Hitting Tracker
01Game day / Live
Built for the Mount Marty staff. One coach charts the game pitch by pitch, and every hitter page, team page and export updates from that same data. Swing decisions included.
Below is a space for me to share my thoughts and ideas surrounding offensive development, as well as display the different resources I have created for players and coaches.
I'm a hitting trainer at Driveline Baseball in Tampa, Florida. Before that, I was the hitting coach at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota.
Most of my life is dedicated to furthering athletes' careers and helping them understand what they need to do to get to the next level. Early in my college career I was fortunate to have coaches who used data and technology to develop players. Those experiences are a big part of why I use the same resources in my own coaching.
At Driveline I've had the chance to put my creativity to the test and build tools that help both players and coaches. This site will keep changing as I keep improving in my career. Hopefully someone finds it useful, interesting, or both.

Coach education / Live
A walkthrough of the bat path, written for coaches. Is the barrel working up or down, side to side, how fast, and how adjustable? Every swing is rebuilt in 3D from 330,422 tracked swings in the 2025 MLB season.
Coach education / Live
Move the sliders and watch where the ball goes. Bat speed, attack angle, path direction and barrel direction all change how hard it's hit and where it lands. Every result stays inside what real 2025 MLB batted balls did.
Research / Live
Lines up every 2025 MLB hitter's attack angle with the slope of the pitches he sees. When the two don't match, that's one reason a hitter struggles with certain pitch types. The Plane Match Score puts a number on it, 0 to 100.

Player development / Single-file tool
Drop in a hitter's Blast and HitTrax files and get one report, compared to whatever level you pick, that prints as a PDF the athlete can take home. Add your program's logo and the report picks up its colors.
Practice planning / Live
A blank pre-game BP sheet. Your staff fills in the groups, the timing, cage rounds and on-field rounds, then saves it or prints it.
Practice planning / Live
A blank weekly hitting calendar. Pick a focus for each day, then plan every cage and the field: machines, pitch shapes, drills and swing counts.

Writing
Longer write-ups. The first one looks back at my 2024-25 season with the Dakota State offense.
